Shot Glass Desserts: Hazelnut Mousse with Mascarpone and Crushed Peppernuts

This delicious dessert was created by Chef Alli to add flavor and goodness to your dessert. It debuted at the 2015 Winter Fancy Food Show and features Prairie Harvest.

9 oz. Nutella or Chocolate sunflower spread from Nu Life Market
1/2 teaspoon espresso powder
1 ½ heavy cream
Mascarpone cheese, softened and whipped
Prairie Harvest Pepper Nuts, crushed

Place Nutella and espresso powder in microwave safe bowl. Heat on low for 10 second intervals or until mixture is the consistency for heavy cream. Stir mixture to incorporate the espresso powder. Set aside and cool mixture to room temperature.

Whip cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold whipped cream into prepared Nutella mixture. The mousse will be soft. Fill pan and cover and refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours or overnight. 
 

To assemble desserts: Layer whipped mascarpone, mousse and crushed pepper nuts into shot glasses. Chill and serve.
