Chef Alli visited Boot Hill Distillery out in Western, KS this week - A farmer-owned Distillery. You'll want to be sure to try their yummy cocktail recipes this holiday season. Chef Alli said they were FANTASTIC!

Santa's Milk and Cookies

2 oz. heavy cream

1.5 oz. vanilla simple syrup

2 oz. Boot Hill Distillery Bourbon

2 sugar cookies

Add all ingredients (except sugar cookies) to a shaker with ice, shake and strain into a wine glass, then lightly grate fresh nutmeg over the top of the cocktail. Place a pretty red napkin on top of a small plate; place cocktail on top of napkin, then add the sugar cookies stacked to the side. 

Liquid Smores

1 packet Swiss Miss Instant Hot Chocolate

1.5 oz. Boot Hill Distillery Red Eye Whiskey

Hot water

2 oz. heavy cream

Add instant hot chocolate and whiskey to a mug; stir to dissolve.  Add hot water and cream, stirring once again. Toast a marshmallow on a small skewer over a stove burner or open flame; place the toasted marshmallow between 2 graham crackers and serve with the cocktail. 

Dodge City Cider (aka Holiday Punch)

1 750 ml bottle Boot Hill Distillery White Whiskey

1/2 gallon apple cider

2 cups cranberry juice

1 cup lemon juice

1/2 cup cinnamon syrup (recipe below)

dehydrated apple slices and cinnamon sticks, for garnishments

Stir all ingredients together in a punch bowl. Serve punch over ice, garnishing each glass with an apple slice and cinnamon stick.

Cinnamon Syrup:  In a saucepan, bring 1 cup water, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 8 cinnamon stick to a boil; simmer for 10 minutes; cool completely.

Hot Buttered Rum

1 ball of butter batter

4 oz. hot liquid cider 

2 oz. Boot Hill Distillery Bourbon

Hot water

Add batter and hot cider to a glass mug; stir until dissolved. Add bourbon, then top cocktail with hot water; garnish with the apple slice.

Butter Batter:

1/2 cup salted butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. ground ginger

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

1/4 tsp. all spice

Soften butter and mix all ingredients together until we’ll combine. Store in a container in the fridge. Use a small scoop to dispense.
