It is time we introduced you to one of our From the Land of Kansas interns!

Meet Josey Mestagh, a junior studying agricultural communications and journalism at Kansas State University. Growing up on a farm and competing in rodeos, 4-H and FFA started Mestagh's lifelong passion for agriculture. After hearing about the internship from her academic adviser, she knew it would be a great opportunity to combine her interests of creativity and agriculture.

This is Mestagh’s first internship. Since she joined the From the Land of Kansas staff in January, one of her biggest areas of growth has been being able to help bring the ideas of From the Land of Kansas members to life. One such instance has included writing a feature story for Madd House Hill.

“It’s very fulfilling,” Mestagh says. “I get to help businesses grow, our program grow, and I get to grow my skills as well.”

Some of Mestagh’s responsibilities have included assembling newsletters, assisting in product updates, and assembling gift boxes. She is also looking forward to meeting with members as well as helping plan the From the Land of Kansas booth for the Kansas State Fair.

Mestagh hopes that through her internship with From the Land of Kansas she will be able to gain more knowledge about Kansas agriculture, along with applicable skills she can utilize to promote the program and the industry as a whole. One day, Mestagh would like to work within the public relations sector or social media for an agricultural agency. The From the Land of Kansas team is so excited to have her!
