Meet Lionberry by Mama Pajama

Starting in August 2024, Lionberry by Mama Pajama LLC of Spring Hill, Kansas, was created by owner Bevin Brooks. Brooks’ journey began with her desire to control the quality of what she consumed, leading her to grow elderberries and create her own Elderberry SIPS. Her high-quality, locally-sourced elderberry and lion's mane mushroom products quickly gained popularity with consumers seeking fresh, local alternatives.

Brooks’ mission is clear: to elevate the value of American elderberry and lion's mane mushroom while supporting local food networks. This focus extends to her partnerships with regional growers, like Farmer Dave of Beuhler Organics, who helped guide her in planting 100 elderberry trees on her farm. Additionally, her collaboration with Meyers Mushrooms in Haysville, Kansas, allows Lionberry to expand its production with advanced harvest methods for the lion's mane mushroom, ensuring consistent quality in products like their new Lionberry Brainiac Tonic.

What sets Lionberry apart is its innovative approach to product development and processing. From crafting Elderberry SIPS in TSA-approved, 2-ounce glass bottles that stay fresher longer to minimizing heat during processing to preserve the plant’s natural properties. These recipes are flavored with local ingredients -- like Concord grape from 3M Winery, tart cherry, and sweetened with local raw honey from SHoney Farm and Kennel -- creating fresh, fruity tastes that customers of all ages love.

Brooks is a regular at the Lenexa Farmers Market, which she proudly calls her home base. Brooks says “My joy and love is to meet and share in person with folks in my local food network community.” Her products are also featured at numerous vendor events, making it easy for customers to experience her products firsthand. Lionberry's products are also available at lionberry.us.

Looking ahead, Bevin is excited to introduce even more beverages and expand her reach, proving that thoughtful, local food production can impact individuals and communities.
